User "" is not validly homed on target "poolname"

I am having issues with these users. Some can not login and get the error their username and or password is not correct logging into Lync 2013. I do know that the server is up and running. I have two users working and every other user I try to add doesn't work.

I have searched the entire web it seems to find out why this is not working. I did the commands

Update-CsUserDatabase

Update-CsAddressBook

I have verfied the Topology. I have checked the ADSIedit and they are all ok. I am not sure what I am missing but everything looks good.

I am running a VM Windows 2012 Server with 200GB free Space and 8 GB of RAM and 4 CPU's.

I am not sure where to go from here... Any help would be great.

Thanks

Did you see any useful info in the sign in logs (right-click Lync icon in taskbar to reveal)?

I do not beleive it is the client.

As I mentioned I have enabled the users but when I run the lookupuserconsole sip:username@domain.com it states the user does not exist.

So I feel it is an issue on the server that the GUI seems to feel it is in there and the powershell states differently.

Anything esle?

How long has it been? Are there multiple sites? This could be due to AD replication issues as well.

If you run get-csuser |fl on the Lync front end, do you see anything different related to a working user vs. a non-working user?

This just started as it is a new install but was working just fine. I did reboot to make sure all updates etc were there.

When I ran that command the settings are the same for both working and nonworking users.

Anything else I could try?

If you enable the user from the Lync Management Shell does it work (vs. the Lync Server Control Panel)?

Nope.. I just tried this using my own settings but this command and when I run the lookup it states the user does not exist

Enable-CsUser Identity "Ken Myer" RegistrarPool atl-cs-001.litwareinc.com SipAddress "sip:kenmyer@litwareinc.com"

Anything else? I usually post when I have gone through every chanel besides calling MS

What is returned when running get-csuser |fl * for a working user and an account that isn't.

There is nothing different that is out of the ordniary. They are from the same OU and have the same perimissions. They both are domain Admins as well. So the working ones are Domain Admins and the two we are trying to add are both.

This is frustrating. I am looking to see if it is a licensing issue but I do not believe so either.

Anything else up your sleeve?

Domain admins are tricky due to the security inheritance issue which has to be temporarily disabled before Lync enablement. Have you tried regular users? Do they experience the same issues?

Edit: It's not a licensing issue. Lync won't kill a connection based on that.

I just tried 4 regular users and they did the same issue...

To be clear. I add a user in the GUI. They try to login and they can't. I try to reset the pin or even veiw the pin I get this error. User "" is not validly homed on target "poolname. I run the Lookupuserconsole.exe sip:username@domain.com and I get the user does not exsit. I see it there but it will not show in the powershell. When I run that on a user who can login I get all the info. This is the reason why the user(s) can not login.

Frustrating....

Also I notice I am receiving a lot of Event ID 30006 due to replication BUT I receive another one after of 3013 stating it replicated etc...

Just and FYI

I'm having this exact same issue.

Have been pulling my hair out for weeks.

All new users get this error in the lookupuserconsole

> sip:ltest@domain.com

  Execution time (ms): 634.79
  Exeuction result: UserDoesNotExist

Yet they are visable in the GUI!

Could you confirm that your servers are all at the same CU level and Database updates applied?

Pat Richard has some great scripts to check this:
